NGOs, Companies donate to Warriors’ Fund
BINTULU: Several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and local companies here yesterday came forward and contributed about RM30,400 to the ‘Perwira Lahad Datu’ fund raising campaign.
On hand to receive the cheques from the contributors was Bintulu police chief Superintendent Madang Usat, who was accompanied by his deputy DSP Mohd Said Ibrahim.
Madang, in his speech, expressed his greatest appreciation to the contributors, whom he described as good Malaysian citizens.
He also said their kind act would lift the spirits of our security forces in Lahad Datu, Sabah in fighting against the intrusion by Sulus from the Phillipines.
“On behalf of the Royal Malaysia Police and Sarawak police contingent in particular, I would like to relay our greatest gratitude to all the contributors here today.
“I hope more NGOs will come forward and carry out their social responsibility,” he said.
He added the spirit of fighting the enemies should not only be with the security forces in Sabah, but the general public must also embrace the spirit of patriotism.
Among the contributors were Bintulu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Amalgamated Plant Engineering Sdn Bhd, Harbour Link Services, Hup Seng Co, DD Pelita Plantations, Grand Perfect Sdn Bhd and Zul Café.
All the contributors were also presented with an appreciation certificate each by the police for their noble efforts.
